What To Expect When You’re Getting Your Roof Replaced by Advanced Roofing

There are several things that are important to keep in mind when getting your roof replaced. We know that not all customers have replaced their roof before, so we made this guide to help you get your home ready for your new roof. Here are a few simple steps you’ll need to follow to prepare for your roof replacement:
Interior Prep:
Step 1
Customers should remove any fragile items hanging on or sitting against their walls. Move china cabinets or other fragile or sentimental items off of the walls if they are pushed against the wall or touching part of the wall.
Step 2
Any items that could be affected by vibrations moving through the walls of the home should be temporarily relocated to prevent damage from occurring. This is the responsibility of the customer.
Exterior Prep:
Step 1
Customers should move any fragile lawn items into their garage as a precaution. There will be shingles and other debris being removed from the home and fragile items are at risk of being damaged if not moved prior to the roof replacement.
Step 2
Customers should notify their project manager of any fragile or sentimental lawn features that cannot be moved so that extra care can be taken to protect those areas during the roof replacement process.
Step 3
Customer vehicles will need to be moved into the garage if not being used or parked on the road away from the driveway entrance before the roof replacement begins so customers can come and go as needed to avoid driving over nails. A dump trailer/dumpster will likely be parked/placed in the driveway so it will be closer to the roof for easier removal of the old roofing system and overall clean-up during and after the roof replacement.
Other things to note:
Dumpsters
The dump trailers or dumpsters mentioned above are used to collect debris/old roof materials. They will be parked on site for the duration of the roof replacement and will be picked up or hauled away once the roof replacement is complete. Of course, we’ll use these dumpsters to clean up as we work and after the job is finished.
Material Delivery
Materials will be delivered to the job site – usually 1 business day before the scheduled roof replacement date or the day of the roof replacement.
Satellite Dishes
Satellite dishes on roofs will be removed during the replacement process. Advanced Roofing & Construction cannot reinstall satellite dishes. You will need to coordinate with your satellite provider to have their satellite dish reinstalled after the roof replacement is complete.
Noise
Roof replacements come with loud noises and some vibrations due to the nature of the job and the tools that are used. It is important to expect this, especially if customers have children or pets who are sensitive to loud sounds.
Cleanup
Remember, several thousands of old nails are being disposed of during the removal of the old roofing system, so it is important to expect that nails will be on the ground during the roof replacement. We will sweep the area with strong magnets to pick up any nails that are still on the ground after the roof is replaced. Please keep this in mind if you have children or pets. We always do our best to remove every nail from your property, but in the event that you notice any areas where nails are still present, please let us know and we will be happy to come back and sweep those areas again.
